Description
This flute is made from a Hazel branch found by a good friend in the woods of ancient Sherwood Forest. Rather than make it “perfect” in dimension and form, I went for a hybrid appearance with the bare branch forming the top part of the flute, and the bore being circular as normal. The bird/block is made from walnut, finished with oil; and the body is finished in shellac (French Polish).
It plays in F4 (F above middle C); if you want to hear it, click on the “Play” button below for a sample.
